Directly from the high-altitude pockets of the Shigar Valley, this 6.25ct specimen is an elegant example of the garnet variety Rhodolite. While the region is famous for orange garnets, this specimen features the much more elusive purplish-red to rose-pink hue. The crystal is well-formed with a high-vitreous luster, showing a beautiful internal clarity when hit by direct light.
The garnet is naturally perched on a matrix of silvery Muscovite. The mica plates are semi-transparent and highly reflective, creating a sparkling, metallic backdrop that makes the rich pinkish-red of the garnet "pop." Measuring 20mm in length, this is a quintessential thumbnail specimen—compact, 100% natural, and perfectly balanced for a "perky box" or specialized garnet display.
